Detailed Notes:

Note that we added 1Gb of RAM for an extra US$5/month so this has 2Gb of RAM. If it didn't exceed US$55 we'd have also added the 100Mbit NIC for US$3/month.

This server is based in Arizona so it has a global connectivity profile similar to Los Angeles. This is good if you are targeting the Pacific region, not so good if you are targeting Eastern Europe.

Pros:

Best CPU in the database yet! Good range of server options including a second HD and hardware RAID. Unlimited network transfer (though at 10Mbps, so 3.3Tb/month) comes as standard.

Cons:

Why do providers persist with this 10Mbps NIC crap as though we are living in 1993? It seems to be particularly a US phenomenon and we really wish it would go away. However that said, for just US$3/month you can get a proper 100 Mbps port.

Additional network transfer is extremely steep, though not as arse rape as other US providers.

Verdict:

It looks like European provider Swiftway's outstanding server product finally has some strong US competition! This Arizona based provider has probably the best value US located low end dedicated server right now, and it has a network location very desirable for US/China/Australian access. Strongly recommended!
