Detailed Notes:

[Updated Nov 2010]

The original version of this server didn't have much to recommend it - it was expensive for what you got and its competition easily beat it. However this refresh significantly bumps the specs, so let's see how it does ...

Pros:

It's like ***wow*** with the 4Gb of RAM - the most we've seen in a low end dedi to date! Plenty of HD and network transfer too ... good! I see that if you pay annually they throw in a free Gigabit NIC too. Dual core Atom is plenty for most tasks.

Cons:

It isn't clear how much additional network transfer costs - which is odd, because that was an option last time we looked at this server.

Verdict:

This is a much, much better offering than last time. While you can get an Intel Core 2 Duo from Swiftway for around the same price, this server is based in Colorado rather than Amsterdam and the 4Gb of RAM is certainly unique in this price segment. Highly recommended!
